2007FAW launched the advanced European-style J6 truck range, the first pmium world class heavy truck to be independently designed and built by a Chinese truckmaker.
2008The new 11-liter CA6DM series engine featuring overhead camshaft design and high pssure fuel injection makes its debut, rated at 350, 370, 390 and 420 horsepower.
2009FAW introduced the second generation J5P heavy truck.
2010FAW ended the year with global sales of 260, 000 trucks. The company ranked number one in China's domestic truck market with a market share of 20.5 percent.
2011The company's next generation J6L medium truck enters production.
2012FAW Group added 260, 000 square meters of production area to its Wuxi Diesel Engine Division at a cost of US$267 million to meet rising demand for its large displacement diesel heavy truck engines. Overall production capacity rose to 250, 000 units annually, including a leap in volume to 125, 000 per year for FAW's popular 11-liter CA6DM overhead cam engine.
2013The Qingdao division of FAW's commercial truck unit completed a major expansion and modernization project. With the construction of new stamping, cab assembly and painting facilities in support of a new state-of-the-art final assembly plant, the location's annual medium and heavy truck output capacity rose to 100, 000 units, raising FAW's overall annual medium and heavy truck capacity to 250, 000 units.
